10 People Dead, Three Injured in Disaster-Related Incidents in Last 24 Hours

Kathmandu: As many as 10 individuals have lost their lives in various natural disasters across the country in the last 24 hours. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) reported that nine people were killed in landslides in Gulmi, Baglung, and Syangja, while one person died due to a lightning strike in Dang.

In Gulmi, a tragic landslide buried five members of the same family. A couple lost their lives in a landslide in Galkot municipality-8, Kandebans, Baglung, and a mother and daughter were killed in Syangja. In Dang, 39-year-old Bhumisara Budha Magar from Rajpur rural municipality-2 died due to a lightning strike.

NDRRMA spokesperson Dr. Dijan Bhattarai stated that three individuals were injured in these incidents. Since the onset of the monsoon this year, 38 people have lost their lives in disaster-related incidents.
